We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our…

Stacey Smart and Jordan Jackson Supervising Students at PDT
Student Supervision and Mentorship
Pediatric Developmental Therapy (PDT) works closely with universities to accept students on their clinical rotations to support the future of healthcare by providing valuable hands-on learning experiences. By offering real-world exposure, we help students develop essential clinical skills, professional competence, and a deeper understanding of patient care. PDT is committed to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals, recognizing that their growth benefits both the students, each of us as therapists and the families we serve.
Supervision and mentorship allow us to contribute to their education while also ensuring high-quality patient care. Additionally, engaging with students promotes a culture of continuous learning and innovation within our team. Investing in students today will lead to better healthcare providers tomorrow, strengthening our healthcare system and improving outcomes for patients.
Two of our current students who have been with PDT since May and will be with us into July, Maddison, OT Level II, Cabarrus College and Adriene, PT Level I – Methodist University have had the wonderful opportunity to work closely with supervisors, Stacey and Jordan, who have several years’ experience.
Madisson and Adriene would like to share these special messages:
Over the past month, Jordan has shown me that kindness is one of the most powerful tools in both teaching and patient care. Her compassion, patience, and genuine investment in others is what makes all the difference.
– Adriene
Working with Stacey (and Illyana for a week) at PDT has been a wonderful and valuable learning experience so far. All of the therapists have been extremely welcoming and helpful, answering questions and including me as part of the team so I feel comfortable conducting interventions, completing UPOCs, evaluations, and assessments. Stacey’s expertise and rapport-building with kids and families set a great example for me to learn from, and her guidance and leadership push me into being a better therapist. I couldn’t ask for a better fieldwork placement for my last rotation of OT school.
– Madisson
Pediatric Developmental Therapy (PDT) provides these amazing opportunities for students and the opportunity to join PDT’s Team full time after their graduation.
