What’s in a Name

In this episode of The Working Therapist, Haden welcomes returning guest, Kjirsti Myles, Pediatric Developmental Therapy Purple Team Lead and physical therapist, as they discuss “What’s in a Name.” As therapists we are trained to detect and identify the deficit. It is easy, though, to allow our training and busy schedules to desensitize us to the individuality of the patients we treat on a daily basis. This often manifests itself as we label patients solely by their diagnosis. Throughout this episode, Haden and Kjirsti bring light to the factors that cause this desensitization, as well as give insight into how to avoid it.
